Why is degree important?

As per the below data we can clearly see that how an extra Qualification be it Bachelor's in Project Management, Master's in Project Management or a PMP certification can give you an extra edge. Lower salary of a less experienced project manager will be more that an average salary of a regular and more experienced manager. Which means if you have a Bachelor's Degree in project management(minimum) you will be earning more than a regular manager. 

Also looking at the trend its clear that companies are getting more inclined towards people with extra edge than that of regular managers.
